Mavericks' Softball Camps

2020 January Elite Prospect Camp with guest coaches

The January Elite Prospect Camp for athletes in grades 7th-12th will offer hands on instruction from the MSU coaching staff, current players, Rachael Click (St. Benedict Head Coach), and Britt Stewart (Gustavus Adopphus Head Coach). Athletes will get the opportunity to learn advanced offensive and defensive strategies along with being able to play in a live game setting, a free t-shirt, lunch, and a question and answer session with prospects and parents. Each camper will partake in an hour and fifteen of their primary position, an hour of defensive basics one session of hitting for an hour and 10 minutes, and an hour and fifteen of scrimmaging against other athletes.

8:55 - 9:00 a.m. Divide into Groups
9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Primary Defensive Position
10:25 a.m. - 11:25 a.m. Defensive Basics
11:35 - 12:45 p.m. Hitting Stations
12:50 - 1:10 p.m. Lunch/Q & A about being a student-athlete
1:10 - 1:20 p.m. Warm up for scrimmage
1:25 - 2:40 p.m. Scrimmage
3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Campus Tour

What To Bring:

  • Tennis shoes or Turf shoes
  • Glove
  • Helmet
  • Bat
  • Catchers should bring a full set of catching gear
  • Pitchers need their own catchers that are not involved in the camp
